Many people seek therapy when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Whether you are navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, parenting stress, a life transition, anticipating a major life change, or nearing or at the end of a relationship, Nola Counseling can provide support, insight, and practical tools for creating meaningful change.

My practice primarily focuses on couples therapy. I work with couples experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, parenting stress, trust issues, affair recovery, blended family challenges, and other significant relationship stressors.

I also work with adults seeking support for relationship patterns, anxiety, divorce recovery, breakups, self-esteem concerns, and personal growth.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is one of the most researched and effective approaches to couples therapy. EFT helps couples understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs that drive conflict, distance, and disconnection.  Rather than focusing only on communication skills, EFT helps partners recognize and shift the emotional patterns that keep them feeling stuck. The goal is to create a more secure and connected relationship.

The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy developed from decades of relationship research. It provides practical tools for improving communication, managing conflict, strengthening friendship, and increasing emotional connection.  The Gottman Method helps couples build concrete skills they can use inside and outside of therapy to support lasting relationship change.

Yes. While rebuilding trust after an affair or betrayal can be challenging, many couples are able to repair and strengthen their relationship through therapy.  Recovery involves processing emotions, understanding what happened, rebuilding trust, improving communication, and creating a clear path forward together. Therapy provides a structured and supportive space for this work.

Absolutely. Parenting can place significant strain on even strong relationships, especially when partners have differing parenting styles, expectations, or roles within the family system. Blended families may also experience additional stress as everyone adjusts to new dynamics.  Therapy can help parents strengthen their relationship with each other, improve communication, navigate differences in parenting approaches, and create a more connected family environment.

Yes. I provide secure virtual therapy for clients throughout Louisiana as well as in-person sessions in Uptown New Orleans. Virtual therapy offers flexibility and convenience while still providing meaningful, high-quality therapeutic support.

Most clients begin therapy with weekly sessions to build momentum and support meaningful progress. As goals are met and changes become more stable, sessions may be spaced out over time.  For couples, I generally recommend starting with 90-minute sessions to allow adequate time for deeper work, communication practice, and meaningful progress within each session.

My practice is private pay. However, I can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through out-of-network insurance benefits. I encourage clients to check directly with their insurance provider regarding coverage.

New clients can typically be scheduled within approximately two weeks, depending on availability.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to the full session fee. This policy helps maintain availability for other clients seeking care.

The first session is an opportunity to explore your concerns, relationship history, and goals for therapy.  Together, we begin developing a direction for treatment that fits your specific needs.  My approach is warm, collaborative, and intentional, with a focus on helping you feel understood while also identifying meaningful paths for change.

Finding the right therapist is an important decision. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to answer questions, discuss your goals, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
